About

“I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen.” – A. A. Milne

Steve and Connie met in Chicago, and share a mutual love of puns, corgis, and travel. In September of 2013, we left the cold frozen land of Chiberia, and set sail for the rest of the world. In eleven months, we visited eleven countries and thirty-five cities over two continents (though it seemed like so much more!). See our itinerary for more details! We took tons of pictures, ate noodles everywhere, snorkeled with huge schools of fish, explored ancient palaces, moonlighted at pet salons, climbed mountains, and had happy hour all the time. Far from being enough, it only confirmed that we have a bad case of wanderlust for Asia, so we’re planning many more travels in our future.

In 2016, we moved to Taiwan, and have racked up many more explorations in Asia since then: South Korea, Okinawa, Thailand (again), and Indonesia (not to mention an epic bike ride around Taiwan). We had our wedding in Hawaii in 2018. In 2019, we visited Switzerland and Italy for the first time. In 2020, we will be welcoming our first child. This blog documents our travels near and far.

Thanks to everyone who has helped us make our travel happen! Our gratitude goes out to friends and colleagues, co-workers and family. A special shout out goes to Connie’s parents and Steve’s parents. Thank you for being there for us!

  1. Susan wants one of y’all to eat a scorpion and take a picture of it! And tell us what it tastes like!

  2. We actually saw some on skewers at a popular small eats street in Beijing, but I am sorry to say I don’t think you could get me or Steve to eat one for love or money. You’d have much better luck persuading your other son to do it!
